Biography
Farra Wilson, DO, is a gastroenterologist at Pinehurst Medical Clinic. Dr. Wilson serves patients at PMC - Heather Glen in Pinehurst.
Dr. Wilson was raised in Pinehurst, NC, and attended The O’Neal School. She attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree in Nutrition before becoming a Registered Dietitian and earning her Master of Science in Nutrition Communication at Tufts University. She then received her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. She completed an internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She continued at Wake Forest, completing a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
As a general gastroenterologist, Dr. Wilson treats all disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary system. She has a special interest in human nutrition and its relationship to the gastrointestinal tract. She performs general endoscopy as well as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and hemorrhoidal banding.
Outside of work, Dr. Wilson likes to spend time with her family - two children, husband, and dog. She also enjoys traveling, reading, tennis, water sports and yoga.
