Biography
Maritza Abonza, PA-C, is a primary care provider serving patients at PMC - West End.
Maritza received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from High Point University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Peace College in Raleigh, N.C.
When treating patients, Maritza makes a point to understand her patients on a deeper level to develop a treatment plan to attain their unique healthcare goals, while providing the best possible outcomes. She also has a passion for minimizing health disparities.
As a family medicine provider, Maritza is an expert in promoting healthy living, disease prevention, health maintenance, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, and more. As part of the PMC organization, she has access to several specialty care and wellness resources to provide the best possible care to improve their patients’ overall health and well-being.
When not caring for patients, Maritza enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, kayaking and going to the beach. She also enjoys reading and states her favorite book is “The House on Mango Street” by Sandra Cisneros.
