Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) welcomes Alyssa Ortega, PA-C, to its dermatology team in Sanford. Ortega will be an expansion of the care team led by board-certified dermatology physician Shivani Kaushik, M.D., to serve patients’ medical dermatology needs.
Ortega earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO., and her Master of Science in Health Sciences as a physician assistant from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, she served as an active duty physician assistant for three years.
Bringing over 10 years of clinical experience, Ortega has developed a care philosophy that focuses on meeting the individual needs of her patients, as every patient is unique.
Ortega states that she originally chose to pursue a career in healthcare because it offered the opportunity to continuously learn. "I went into healthcare because it is always changing and advancing, she said. “Through healthcare, I can be a lifelong learner and constantly improve my clinical acumen, allowing me to deliver safe and effective healthcare to patients.”

Outside of caring for patients, Ortega enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and working out on her Peloton.
