Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is proud to announce the newest addition, Lyela Sullenger, NP, to the pulmonology team in Pinehurst at PMC- East and Sanford at PMC – Greenway Court. Sullenger is joining PMC's established pulmonary department while bringing rich experience and expertise to our patients.
Sullenger attended the University of Kansas Medical Center- School of Nursing, where she obtained her Doctor of Nursing degree. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas and her Associate’s degree in Nursing from South Plains College.
Her passion for healthcare began early in life, fueled by her strengths in math and science. However, she sought a career that involved meaningful interpersonal relationships. For Sullenger, healthcare was the ideal choice, as it combines her scientific interests with the ability to form significant connections with others. She has developed a care philosophy centered around "quality of life.” “I want to strengthen health literacy and accountability through improved access to care", Sullenger states. "As a result, I will be better equipped to serve my patients and their communities and contribute to the growth of my organization."
Sullenger is excited to be part of PMC's Pulmonary team after gaining experience working with PMC providers during her nurse practitioner program. She noticed a deep sincerity in every patient-provider interaction and found that the quality of care and follow-ups extended far beyond the visits to PMC, positively influencing the patients' overall journeys.
When not caring for patients, Sullenger enjoys going on adventures with her family, kayaking, hiking, and exploring cities.
