PRE-TREATMENT CONSIDERATIONS FOR AESTHETIC PROCEDURES
Botox/Filler/Instalift/RF Microneedling
It is our goal to be able to treat you on the day of your scheduled appointment. Please read and follow the following instructions that have been updated with the newest recommendations prior to your procedure:
• Medications and supplements:
◦ To reduce the chance of bruising, avoid the following for 2 weeks prior to treatment (unless prescribed by a doctor):
▪ Aspirin and pain relievers such as Aleve, Naprosyn, Motrin, Ibuprofen (Tylenol is okay). If taking Coumadin, get prescribing physician's approval first.
▪ Supplements including garlic, ginkgo biloba, st. johns wort, fish oil, evening primrose oil and flax-seed oil
• Treatment timing:
◦ Avoid filler and threads for at least 2 weeks before and two weeks after the following: dental work (including routine cleanings), vaccinations (COVID-19 vax/booster, shingles vax) and any oral steroids/oral antibiotic course.
• It is recommended you stay in the area (driving distance to the practice) for at least a week after your treatment so you can be assessed if needed. If traveling, tell your provider so communication arrangements can be made.
• Plan filler, laser and threading procedures at least a month before events (travel, weddings, etc) to give yourself time to heal and for results to be settled.
• Additional considerations:
◦ Please discuss with your provider any new diagnoses (especially autoimmune-related conditions) and/or new medications and supplements you are taking.
◦ Let your provider know if you have ever had a cold sore. For certain procedures, we will write a prescription for an antiviral medication to take the day of your treatment.
